Another sick visit

Hanna had another visit to the pediatrician today. She has been dealing with a cold for the last few days and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I was relieved when the doctor said it wasn't another upper respitory infection or earache. It's just a cold in her throat. We are sitting in the parking lot of CVS waiting for her prescription to be filled. I hope it helps and she is on the mend soon!

Hanna hopes her Grandpa feels better soon too!

Repost

A repost and a plea....

Dear Hanna's new tooth (or teeth),

I know that the process of teething takes some time but please oh please can we speed things up???

The fussiness and irritability are always a joy. So is the lack of napping. My favorite is the screaming that occurs when it is time to sit on the floor and play toys.

I understand that currently there are only two teeth and a long road of teething lies ahead. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to not make this process so unbearable.

Thank you,
An exhausted and frustrated Mommy

We love play dates!

You may remember from this post, Stephen and I met Meghann’s Mommy and Daddy during our prenatal class. It is always great to get together with them.

Now that the girls are older, it is even more enjoyable. They play well together. There was only one meltdown. Hanna has hair. Meghann doesn’t. I am sure you know the rest!

We hope that the girls become the best of friends!

Another Cold

Hanna woke up from her nap yesterday with a runny nose and cough. Today it is worse as she seems to have a lot of mucus.

She doesn’t want to be held.

She doesn’t want to nap.

She only wants to do the things she knows she isn’t allowed to. We are very used to the tears now when we tell her no. And trust me, she understands what no is.

I hope that tonight goes smoothly and that we all get some sleep :)

Hanna's 1st Thanksgiving

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We spent the day in Pennsylvannia with Stephen's family.  It was nice to see everyone and enjoy a great dinner.

Hanna was crawling all over the place and everyone loved it.  Great Aunt Alice was able to join us for dinner and meet Hanna for the first time.  Of course they hit it off.

It is tradition that before we eat everyone must say what they are thankful for.  Family is not an option because that is a given. I cheated.  I said I was thankful for my family but most importantly for my healthy baby girl.  The common theme was for healthy family members and jobs.

After dinner we piled in the car and headed home to have dessert with my family.  Hanna really enjoyed her girl talk with Aunt Becki and cousin Deanna.  She doesn't get to see Deanna very often as she is away at college so they had a lot of cactching up to do ;)

We love Morgy!

Earlier in the month Morgan turned 6.  And of course we celebrated with vanilla ice cream.

I know that this seems silly but I would like to think that these birthday celebrations are some of the things that Hanna will remember forever.

First night away

So much for my 30 posts in 30 days!  There has just been a lot going on in our house.  But you don't want to hear my excuses.

Anyhoo....I did it.  I survived my first night without Nan.  Stephen and I went to Rehoboth last weekend to hit up the outlets.  It was nice to get away and go out on a dinner date.

This sweet, adorable little face had us up early Saturday morning so we had her and Morgan to my parents bright and early.  We were in Rehoboth before noon which was awesome.  I couldn't believe the deals!  I was eyeing up a Coach bag {or two} but we weren't shopping for me.

For dinner we went to the Dogfish Head Brewpub in Rehoboth on the recommendation of friends.  It was good!  I had the Punkin Ale and Stephen had the sampler.

And for dessert Stephen had chocolate cake made with blue cheese.  It was very rich but tasted great. I definitely recommend this place if you are in town.

Sunday morning we woke and went to the Fractured Prune for breakfast. Oh my!!  These are the best donuts. Ever!!  Our friends {who also recommended Dogfish} told us about this during the summer when we were down there.  I made it clear when we were planning this visit that we had to get donuts for breakfast. It is so hard to eat just one.  We brought quite a few home and they were just as good for dessert.

We were gone for just over 24 hours and I only called 5 6 times.  I never doubted that she would be ok.  I did well though.  No tears. But I don't know that I am ready to do it again anytime soon.

Something cool

Xerox is doing something cool.

If you go to this web site, http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.

This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We can never say enough thank you's.

PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ALONG TO OTHERS!!!

Preparing myself

I have been mentally preparing myself for this day for some time now.  Deep down I always hoped it wouldn't have to happen for a little while longer though.  What am I referring to?

Tomorrow night is Hanna's first sleepover.

It is just one night.  And I know she will be fine.  It's me that I am worried about.  How many times can I call without coming across as well...crazy?  My parents raised me and I turned out ok {no comments from the peanut gallery!}

Wish me us luck!
